Meet one of our Project Managers: Paudie Totten

How long have you worked for Premier Electrics?

I have worked for Premier Electrics for over 20 years. I started as an electrician working at different sites and eventually moved up to become a site manager, overseeing projects in the Commercial and Retail sectors. I then transitioned to working at our head office, gaining experience in various departments including design, estimation, testing & commissioning, maintenance, and small works. This experience has led me to my current role in Project Management, which I have been doing for almost 11 years. It was the best decision I ever made.

What is your current role at Premier Electrics?

I am currently a Project Manager, which involves running main contracts and managing the small works portfolio for one of our blue-chip clients. I am involved in all aspects of projects from estimation, design, health & safety, client development, installation, and commissioning. 

What’s the best thing about working at Premier Electrics?

There are several things that make Premier Electrics great. The people I work with make going to work enjoyable and their can-do attitude makes no problem insurmountable. The work atmosphere, while we all work extremely hard, still allows for some fun and laughter at work. I have been known to play the odd prank or joke. An exciting part of my role is the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures and I have enjoyed working in locations including Gran Canaria, Munich, and Ljubljana.

What do you do in your spare time outside of work? 

Most of my spare time is spent with my wife Martina and our three boys with the rest split between coaching underage football, CrossFit (which I do badly), going to Country concerts (my guilty pleasure) and helping my dad restore a 1972 VW Beetle GT.
