Meet Our General Manager John Martin

How long have you worked for Premier Electrics?

I have been with Premier Electrics for over 22 years, initially working in the Design Department before taking on the role of General Manager almost 7 years ago. Over the years, I have been responsible for establishing our Quality and Health & Safety systems, as well as managing our substantial Small Works and Maintenance department. Additionally, I have been involved in establishing our standard operating procedures in the various European countries to which we have expanded.

What is your current role at Premier Electrics?

As the General Manager, I am involved in all aspects and departments of the business, helping to coordinate the teamwork that has led to our success. My primary responsibility is to Chair our regular leadership meetings, during which we establish and execute our strategic plans. With the help of the team, I manage the resources to deliver multiple projects across Europe whilst reporting to our Board on operational aspects of our business. 

 What’s the best thing about working at Premier Electrics?

No day is the same and every day brings new challenges as we work on delivering projects. I would also say the people I work with make going to work enjoyable. They all have a great work ethic and sense of humour that helps us navigate the challenges of working with clients across different geographical locations.

What do you do in your spare time outside of work? 

When I'm not spending time with my wife Aoife and our two daughters, I coach hurling for Dunloy. Coaching takes up most of my spare time, but during the darker months, I enjoy greyhound racing with my father and brother, having the craic and travelling.
