NI Apprenticeship Week - A Word from former Apprentice

1st May 2021

As part of 'NI Apprenticeship Week' we spoke to one of our Project Managers, Brendan McPeake.

“I started my career at Premier Electrics as an apprentice back in 1998. Premier Electrics gave me full support throughout my apprenticeship as I completed my qualifications and learned the electrical trade on site.

After qualifying as an Electrician I put my skills to good use on a range of projects with many of them delivered in live-trading environments. As my experience developed I moved into a Site Management position which gave me greater experience of managing site teams and the pace of delivering fast-tracked or phased programmes.

Since then I have progressed into my current role as a Project Manager with overall responsibility for the delivery of outstanding projects. I work closely with our in-house design team, estimators, purchasing and any specialist sub-contractors to ensure we provide full satisfaction for our clients.

Having joined the company as an apprentice, I am now overseeing the delivery of a high-profile office project in London and I look forward to delivering many more projects for Premier Electrics”.

Our successful Apprenticeship programme has been running for 20+ years with 18 apprentices currently engaged in our programme. We hope that they will have long, fulfilling careers within Premier Electrics.
